Welcome to EPISD!  TSTA/NEA and our local association have a single purpose--to improve public education while working to improve the salaries, rights and benefits of all educational employees.  In the legislature, TSTA led the fight to stop over 40 bills that would have reduced the rights and benefits of educational employees.  At the local, state, and national levels, we are the only organization with the staff and the clout to move an agenda in the political arena.  The only thing that is missing to insure our success is you.

Locally, EPTA works to keep members informed.  We are working on a schedule of training sessions on topics of interest to our members.  Our first series of training sessions will be held shortly after school begins.  EPTA members will receive their invitation to this training.

Hopefully, you won't ever need to access the legal protection offered by the TSTA/NEA.  However, if you do, our members have a $6,000,000 liability insurance policy and state and national legal defense funds to assist members.  No other organization can match the protection you receive from TSTA/NEA.  You can contact our Help Desk Monday through Friday at 877-ASK-TSTA or by going to our web site at www.tsta.org.

This year, teachers who sign up at NTAP will receive a $100.00 signing bonus.  Don't just join an association!  Become part of the powerful movement that is working to make public education in Texas the priority it should be --become a member of EPTA/TSTA/NEA today.

TSTA/NEA: Fighting for Texas Public Schools Since 1880

TSTA MISSION STATEMENT

The Texas State Teachers Association will unite, organize and empower public education advocates to shape public education in Texas thus providing a quality public school for every child.

TSTA VISION STATEMENT

In order to shape public education in Texas, the Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA) will:

Be receptive and responsive to the diverse needs of the membership, embracing differences;

Be results-oriented, achieving outcomes that have a clear impact on members;

Focus on systemic change, rather than on individual change; and

Generate sufficient resources to expand association programs and services to meet all organizational needs.

TSTA will maintain an internal culture that values:

Open, honest and respectful communication;

Organizational and individual change based on data, assessment and evaluation; and

Shared accountability, collaboration and teamwork among all stakeholders – members, leaders, management and staff.

Further, TSTA must

Focus its resources on organizing; and

Recruit and visibly organize within locals that show potential and commitment.
